CiarĂĄn Cuffe TD for has welcomed funding of over €50,000 from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government to tackle the problems of litter and graffiti in DĂșn Laoghaire.

CiarĂĄn Cuffe, TD for DĂșn Laoghaire said:

“In the summer months, resources available to deal with litter often become stretched as we welcome a large number of visitors to our towns and the coast.

“This funding will help keep the most scenic and well visited areas of DĂșn Laoghaire free from litter and is a welcome boost to the local economy as we head into the tourist season.

“Grants have also been made available to the Council to fund public education and awareness campaigns to combat the problems of litter and graffiti.

“It's part of a national drive to tackle the country’s litter problem through clean-ups, greater enforcement and awareness-raising.”
