The enactment of new planning laws will see the beginning this summer of a transformation in how we plan our towns, cities and regions, the Minister of State with responsibility for Planning, CiarĂĄn Cuffe said today, following the passing of the Planning and Development Bill through all stages of the Oireachtas: 

"At the heart of these new planning laws is a simple idea – to put the interests of our citizens ahead of any one interest group, be they property developers or landowners."

Tackling the water woes in DĂșn Laoghaire Rathdown

Water supply to Killiney and Dalkey has been severely affected due to a burst water mains pipe. The Council have tankers on hand to enable residents to get at least some supply.

Conserving Water Usage

DĂșn Laoghaire Rathdown Council have been advising residents to conserve water during the cold spell. Water demand has remained at a very high level since before Christmas. A further sharp increase has occurred since the beginning of January. Demand is currently running at a higher level than at any stage in recent years.

Due to the cold weather the number of broken mains has increased dramatically. Council crews are repairing these breaks as they arise. Please report any location where they see water rising or running to :
