Cuffe Calls for Cruise Liners in Dún Laoghaire

Ciarán Cuffe TD presenting the Green Party Submission on Dún Laoghaire Harbour to CEO Gerry Dunne

The Green Party has called on Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company to actively investigate attracting the cruise liner market to Dun Laoghaire in a submission to the new MasterPlan for the Harbour.

Green Party TD for Dún Laoghaire Ciarán Cuffe stated:

Dún Laoghaire is a fantastic harbour location with a unique built and natural heritage. The introduction of cruise traffic would be a fantastic boost for the local economy and create jobs in the town.

Commitment to return Ferry Service a positive development

Stena Ferry entering Dún Laoghaire Harbour

The Green Party has welcomed commitments from Stena Line and the Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company that the ferry service between Dún Laoghaire and Holyhead will return on 15 March 2010.
