Greens say good riddance to DĂșn Laoghaire Cobbles

The Green Party has welcomed plans to replace the granite cobbles on Georges Street in DĂșn Laoghaire. However, they say that the cobbled surface should never have been put down in the first place.

Cuffe Calls for Cruise Liners in DĂșn Laoghaire

The Green Party has called on Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company to actively investigate attracting the cruise liner market to Dun Laoghaire in a submission to the new MasterPlan for the Harbour.

DĂșn Laoghaire is a fantastic harbour location with a unique built and natural heritage. The introduction of cruise traffic would be a fantastic boost for the local economy and create jobs in the town.

Cuffe welcomes €15m fund for Councils tackling severe weather

Green Party TD for DĂșn Laoghaire CiarĂĄn Cuffe has welcomed extra funding for local authorities to tackle the effects of severe weather.

Environment Minister John Gormley announced an additional €15 million in contingency funding for local authorities to cover exceptional costs associated with the extreme weather currently being experienced. The money will be available for those local authorities most in need of supplementary funding, as a contribution to exceptional costs as a result of the weather.

New Friday Market for DĂșn Laoghaire

DĂșn Laoghaire Friday Market

A new outdoor market has opened in DĂșn Laoghaire town centre beside St Michael’s Church and the shopping centre. The market is open from 9.30am-4pm every Friday and has both food and gift stalls.

Congratulations to all involved with getting it up and running. I hope it’s a great success.
