The Green Party today pledged to spend three times more on public transport than roads if it formed part of the next government.

Launching its transport manifesto '75:25 Transport Vision' in Dublin, Green transport spokesperson Ciarán Cuffe said:

Dublin Bus is making changes that will result in a simpler, more reliable and more direct Dublin Bus service from later this month. There will be more direct and faster services with even timetabling that eliminates ‘bunching’ and the uncertainty of not knowing when your bus will arrive.

Some residents may have a slightly longer walk to the bus stop as result of these changes, but for high frequency services to the city centre such as the 46a, the bus they get on will have arrived quicker and will arrive at their destination faster.

The Green Party has today welcomed the announcement by Dublin Bus that it is to overhaul the bus network and provide a more efficient service for Dublin’s bus commuters.
