The Green Party has welcomed the release of funding for flood prevention works on the Carysfort-Maretimo Stream.

Green Party TD for Dún Laoghaire Ciarán Cuffe stated:

Christmas Tree Recycling will take place from Tuesday 4th - Sunday 16th January 2011 inclusive between 9.30am and 4pm at the following locations:

    * Blackrock Park Main Entrance
    * Cabinteely Park Car Park
    * Killiney Hill Car Park
    * Marley Park, Grange Road Car Park
    * Mount Anville Parks Depot, Goatstown
    * Shanganagh Recycling Centre Car Park
    * West Pier Car Park, Dun Laoghaire

The Council have released the following notice regarding water supply restrictions in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown:

A contra flow cycle lane has been proposed by the Council for Newtown Avenue between Idrone Terrace and Seapoint Avenue in Blackrock. If approved, it will form a key piece in the route of the Sandycove to Sutton Cycle Way.

Green Party TD for Dún Laoghaire and Minister for Planning, Ciarán Cuffe, has welcomed the return of Open House to Dún Laoghaire, now in its third year.

Open House Dublin, launched by Minister Cuffe last month, is funded by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and involves the opening of historic buildings, landmarks and private residences to the public from the 7-10 October 2010.

Green Party Minister for Horticulture, Ciarán Cuffe TD, today launched National Organic Week 2010. The week, which is co-ordinated by Bord Bia and funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, takes place this year from the 13-19 September. Now in its sixth year, the week-long campaign and promotional events aim to continue to raise consumer awareness of organic food and increase the consumption of locally produced organic food.

Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party TD for Dún Laoghaire and Minister for Horticulture, said at the launch:

The Green Party has called for continuity of waste collection services in Dún Laoghaire and protection for householders.

The call follows Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council's announcement that it intends to withdraw from waste collection services.
