Greens say McDowell must clarify threat to State or consider his position as Justice Minister The Green Party has stated that the Minster for Justice Michael McDowell TD must give an adequate description of the threat to State posed by Frank Connolly. If Minister McDowell cannot do this then his position as Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform is untenable. Green Party Justice spokesperson Ciarán Cuffe TD stated that, "We require an explanation for the campaign of vilification being pursued by Minister McDowell against Mr. Connolly, Thus far Mr. McDowell's explanation has failed to clarify why in Mr. Connolly's case he is going beyond the presumption of innocence until proven guilty."
