Garda Inspectorate must not be subject to political influence of the day - says
the Green Party The
Green Party has expressed concern about the Minister for Justice's proposal to
set up a Garda Inspectorate that would report directly to the Minister. Green
Party Justice spokesperson Ciarán Cuffe TD,
said today that, "It would be more appropriate to vest such powers with the
proposed Ombudsman Commission. This could help ensure that it is not subject to
the political influence of the Minister of the day." |
